The recipe was simple enough, a little google searching is all it took:
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 cups of stale bread cubes
- salt and pepper to taste
The only problem was that I did not have stale bread. Fuck it I thought, I than proceeded to chop/ slice/ cut two slices of bread. The fact that the bread was not stale made the Crouton soft, and it absorbed the butter and olive oil. In the end it had a crunchy-ish outerior while butter and olive oil mixed together gave a somewhat damp texture. The taste of butter and olive oil was delicious but it was a bit too potent.
So my Crouton was not a success. This morning I chopped up some Roman Lettuce and than boiled an egg. Had some Caesar Salad dressing which tasted water downed and lacked in the black pepper department. In the end it came up to look like this:-
Goal accomplished. I rate me own Caesar Salad a 1 out of 5. Edible, but not something you would serve to someone else.
Next Sunday's goal is -
A story that's at least 1000 words long.
